My new place....

` It looks just like it did when I first saw it last month: Plastic over one window, no blinds, no switchplates, unfinished electrical outlets, no grate over the heating duct, no shade on the light fixture, no mini-fridge - there's not even any locks on the doors!
` The bathroom I share lacks a sealed floor, the toilet is wacked, and the many kitchen cupboards have yet to be finished, so there is no place at all to put my food or dishes. The other tenants say it's been that way for the past six months.
` I've been living there for the past couple of days, sleeping on a cot that folds up against the wall. At least it has heat. Unfortunately, the screen door doesn't shut, so it bangs in the wind all night long, seemingly in my ear.

` Worst of all, I cannot get the internet from the library - suposedly I could log on for an hour if I make a reservation, but it always kicks me off after about forty seconds, no matter what I do or what station I use. Nobody knows why - this even happens when Aurora from the Co-Op volunteered her library card for me to use instead of mine.
` Thank goodness she was there. I'm actually at her house, using her friend's internet right now. Just thought I'd use this time to tell you what things were like.
` Hopefully my computer's upcoming hard drive fixes its current problem so that I'll be able to get the internet for my own - it's much cheaper than going to an internet cafe where I wouldn't even be able to concentrate in the first place. Plus, with my own internet, I'd be able to download things and put new photos and the rest of my artwork up!
` I'd better go, I'm on borrowed time....

Surely you're not expected to fix up the room by yourself?
