Good riddance!

For some reason I thought I'd long since posted what happened with the crazy roommates, but apparently not. Lotsa stuff has been happening, a lot of which haven't written down. Oh, and by the way, MY NEARLY TEN THOUSAND PHOTOS ARE ON FLICKR NOW!

Dr. Nociceptor is thrilled, understandably. Check it out!

* Two hours have passed since that last sentence; I was busy putting together a flier to advertise for new renters! If we can move some people in soon, we'll be able to keep living here!

Once again, let's start off with the chaos going on when I left off:

December 22, 2009:

On the way to the gig, Lucas picked up a hitchhiker from the Lucky 7, and that guy stayed the whole concert! Two of Johnny's past girlfriends were dancing there, along with all of Johnny's family.
` Also, his cousin saw that Johnny was wearing a shirt that looked just like one of his, so he threatened to beat Johnny up over it. So, Johnny told him to take off his coat... and he was wearing the shirt itself! Ha ha!

Right not, Johnny's in the bedroom with Lucas and I, and Johnny is defending himself for breaking the house phone after being raped at the morgue and comes home to find that there's no mail key!
` As Lucas and I were driving away, Johnny called, freaking out over this, so Lucas turned around and drove us back, to find that Johnny was about to break open the mail box!

December 23, 2009:

Lucas is off with his friend Jeremy, who's visiting from Japan, and I'm guarding the room while Brad and Char are packing. If they have an incident trying to move the fish tank or something, I'm to call the cops.
` So far, the only thing of mine they've taken is the butter I just bought. It was Char; "This is our brand of butter! What's it doing up here?"

I will be glad to be rid of her and her bitchy comments. It seems that the only thing she's capable of saying are things like, "Somebody doesn't know how to do dishes!"

Okay, it's later, and they are GONE! Brad said he'd be back later, and I said, "Later?" but he isn't back, and I don't expect him to be!
` He got the fish tank out, sure enough, though one of the filters broke. WHOOO! No more fish tank! Every time I stepped outside of my room, I'd hear that buzzing, bubbling sound, and it was so oppressive -- hopefully it isn't the same for the fish!
` What's most bass-ackwards about the fish tank was, Brad bought a new 75 gallon filter that hardly made any noise, but even though the tank was only 50 gallons, he still used the old filter along with the new filter, so it was noisier than ever!
` What sense does that make? And I just didn't feel like I was welcome in the living room! It was not a pleasant place to be, despite the nice view. It just sort of ruined the whole living room for me, and the only way I could relax was to turn it off and hope that Brad or Char didn't catch me.
` Even at night I'd go out into the living room to do homework and have to turn it off, but if Brad came running up the stairs, I'd have to turn it back on and go hide again. That was just the most annoying thing, but at least it didn't echo throughout all the rooms like it did in the last house!

So now we're only down to Drunk-o Steve, who peed his pants in front of Chris! I'm not making this up: Johnny and his buddy/bandmate Chris were jamming, and Steve was trying to join in, only he was so drunk he urinated on himself!
` If that wasn't freaky enough, Steve 'Beer' Goziña stays up at night ranting loudly about how much he hates Lucas, and to whom? No one! He pretends he's on his phone, but he's not! We know this in part because he's on his phone a lot, but there is no one on the other end!
` Lucas' demonstration of Steve's semi-upright stance, when he's only half-wasted, then his 'alcoholic hula' when totally wasted, were right on! You should have seen it, we were laughing hysterically!

Also, an amazing discovery about my winter coat, which is actually two coats that zip together; after wearing each of them separately, and after spending the past nine years wishing it had a hood, guess what? I was taking it out of the locker at my gym and magically, the hood appeared on my head!
` Early Christmas present! If only I'd known this when I was working at the corn maze and other times when I was out all night in the rain! Stranger than fiction!

December 25, 2009:

Opened my mom's presents under the Harley Santa, took some pictures, etc. Finally, tried to de-stress with a movie on TV and some ice cream. It was enjoyable for about two minutes, until Johnny came in all drunk and troubled ('cause his mom just died), after having spent an hour asking Lucas metaphysical questions and not being satisfied with his answers.
` I didn't know what to say. In fact, I even drove him to a family member's house, and he came back just when I was starting to relax again, at one in the morning, and tried to persuade me to take him to get another beer.

December 27? 2009:

Aw, man, I wished I'd brought the camera. The pink light outside was really neat, while Lucas and I walked in the woods with Violet. Apparently, Vada was too angry at Violet to come with us because of Violet's higher tolerance of Johnny's cat, Noll.
` Even cooler, we met the old guy who had cut the trails himself! He was a neat guy.

January 3, 2010:

New Year's wasn't much, at least for me. Lucas and Johnny provided the live music for a party, but I was too asleep to go. Later on, Lucas and I watched the fireworks over Puget Sound from our window... with Beer Goziña!
` But tonight, or should I say, last night, was awesome! We saw Avatar 3D! Technically, we started watching it at 10:30 the previous night, but it didn't let out until after one in the morning!
` We actually got there early to buy tickets for the 8:10 show, but it was already sold out, so we had to walk all the way back to PetCo where I had parked my car. Yeah, it was crowded!
` Then we got a bucket of chicken and I had some more of the chili I had made the previous night. Good stuff! Then, it was off to the theatah!
` At first, I thought Avatar might be a sort of dumb movie, but I changed my mind about a half hour into it! It so happens that Roger Ebert has the same sort of opinion, if anyone cares:

Watching "Avatar," I felt sort of the same as when I saw "Star Wars" in 1977. That was another movie I walked into with uncertain expectations. James Cameron's film has been the subject of relentlessly dubious advance buzz, just as his "Titanic" was. Once again, he has silenced the doubters by simply delivering an extraordinary film.
As we were walking from the theater, Johnny did say it was basically a remake of Dances With Wolves, except with blue cat-humanoid aliens, though I didn't realize this, having never seen that movie.
` Okay, so it's not original, but I thought it worked! Well done!

Evening....

Steve's finally out! We can be ourselves again! Whoooooo!
` Of course, as usual, there's some bad news. Johnny's brother Joe, who I sometimes call Destructo Joe, is living up to that name again: After Lucas and Johnny have been helping him remodel his mom's old house -- for free! -- he destroyed a bunch of her stuff!
` For one thing, Joe threw Johnny's newly-inherited 26-inch TV about ten feet down the driveway. He said he dropped it, but how could that be if he was standing at the gate by the sidewalk and the TV was lying there smashed, up against the house?
` Joe said, "Why would I break a TV? I own five myself!" Huh? Does that mean he thinks the TV should have belonged to him? What does that have to do with anything?
` Joe also put all of their old records, birth certificates, photos, etc. out in the rain all day! Everything was soaked through and ruined! Not to mention, the bed, too! And the entertainment center Johnny was to inherit, Joe and one other guy smashed the glass out of it and practically tore it all apart!
` We also have an armchair from that house, though there had been another armchair, which had been snapped in half like a twig! And don't let me get started with all the dishes and glassware they broke!
` And of course, Johnny was upset, and one of Johnny's other brothers went berserk about the way their mother's memory was being treated, how Joe disrespected the whole family, etc.

January 5, 2010:

It's my second day of school and I've been busy all day! At this moment, however, I shall have to sorely disappoint my Violet. She's very happy and on my lap and everything, but I'm going to go to the gym, then do something I haven't done in a while; go to the library and hang out with my friends!
` All that uploading my old pictures to Flickr made me realize just how much I don't do that stuff anymore!

Later!

I'm so glad to hear you have gotten rid of the old roommates and are looking for new ones! Hope this time around it works out much better for you. Maybe you can get some references from the ones you are interviewing this time.

You made me laugh with your story about finding the hood hidden inside your double coat. HA! :D Good to know that it is there now in case you need it again.

Say hi to your cats and give them a pet on the head for me, will you. :-) I had a cat who died a few years ago. She lived to be very old---18 years old! So she had a long life, but I miss her sometimes. When you blog about your cats, it reminds me of her.

Aw! My mom's cat lived to 18 years old! Ironically, Johnny was arguing last night that cats can't live that long, and didn't believe me when I told him that a few cats reach the age of 30.

Anyway, that is nuts about the hood. Like, I've taken it apart and put it back together... so where was it hiding?

I put up a flier this morning for this house, so hopefully we get some calls soon. It has a picture of the sunset with a ferry boat and below that, Vada by the fireplace. I hope that's eye-catching enough!

I had a cat that lived to be 23. Before good veterinary care, the oldest cats seemed to be 14 - 17.

Wow! That reminds me, I told Johnny once that cats could live into their 20's and he was very slow to believe me. As for Ashlie, my mom's cat, she was the oldest of the bunch. Maybe.
` Well, actually, there was also Amy the cat, our fourth cat, who went to live with my mom's friend Rosie, but I don't know how long she lived.
