Transformation of the Recording Studio - and a few other things!

Remember that studio we had? I guess I never told you guys, but that studio was literally part of the ghetto apartment we moved out of. I only didn't tell you because I wanted to pretend we had moved from one apartment building to another so that I could post more photos of the outside of it.
` You know, because I'm paranoid of stalkers.
Though, I never did.

Now that that's off my chest, here's a picture of the old studio, up the soundproofing of which Violet loved to climb.

That's why I didn't normally let the cats in there - which was a bummer because there was space under the adjacent bathroom sink for the litter box, which is unpleasant in an apartment room barely larger than 10x20 feet (3x6 m) no matter how well it's cleaned.

Anyway, when we moved out, we had to tear the studio down. First, we started with the tapestries. (Except the little bit inside the recording booth window at left.)

Then, we had to literally chop up the recording booth, strategically so that it came out in sections that we could later erect. (The Fiberglas insulation, however, got soaked in a subsequent basement flood at the house.)
` This is B-Gangsta, choppin' down the wall with the saw. As I recall, he took turns with Lou Ryan.

All the dust from this procedure, in such a tiny, poorly-ventilated place without so much as a fan, really seemed to burn Violet's eyes, so she sought refuge in our Disembodied Dresser Drawers of Doom.
` Which Vada thought was great.

Since the sound insulation tiles were so well-attached to the walls, Lou Ryan himself took to putting wallpaper over them.

If only he'd known that wallpaper is supposed to be completely soaked in water before putting it up. Oh well... the next tenant, who works just across the street, doesn't mind, though strangely she doesn't sleep in this quiet room.
` Why would anyone want to sleep in a place full of traffic noise and domestic violence without and sound insulation, beats me... I frequently had to wear earplugs just to get to sleep!

As of yet, we don't have the studio up in the new house, as most of it is still 'under construction'.... say hi, Nate!

Luckily, there are plenty of nice places for filming movies.... And as you can see, Nathan Lee, Lou Ryan and B-Gangsta ("Whyyyyyy?") really don't look like drunken morons when they're at work!

Not to mention, the cats have all the space they want.... Dratted leash!

Next post; the evolution of my bedroom from hole-in-the-side-of-the-house to a useable, insulated room with nice windows, mostly thanks to Lou Ryan!

Wow, tearing down the old studio must have been quite a job! You made me laugh about the wallpaper. Ooops!
I always enjoy seeing pictures of your two cats. They must be a lot of fun to have around.

Have a good weekend! :)

I take it the tapestries are worth millions of squillions of dollars and so leaving a little of it for the next tenant is just your kind way of spreading your wealth a little. Right? ;-)

Thank you, Daisy! The cats are quite nice to have - they're two of the coolest cats I've ever known.
` If there's any trick they can learn to run around and be naughty, they have found it!

Actually, Gareth, that entire wall was the one removed from the room!
` To tell you the truth, any future tenants do not even deserve to have our wealth spread to them!
` The expensive soundproof paneling (which we got for free) is enough!
