Meet the Baxters!

` And who are 'The Baxters'? My very strange friends, Jason and Andie, and their little baby, Cosey Mo, who is named after a fictional literary character with some... reputational oddities.
` The first Baxter drawing in my red sketchbook, in fact, is of Cosey Mo, so I'll put that one first...

` The next picture is of the three of them, so you can see the family resemblance, although it's not terribly accurate. Really, they don't look very creepy at all! That's the thing with pen... you can't erase, you can only keep going. Gar.

` I wrote 'Ghengis Jason' at the top because we thought it looked somewhat like an insanely-grinning Ghengis Khan more than it does Jason. Later on, when I was spending the night at their apartment, I tried to draw him wearing his lovely skirt.
` This is the still-inaccurate result, though I blotted out most of my insane commentary for your delicate eyes...

` The large, black, furry lump that's in love with him would be Andie's dog, Leo, who they've renamed 'Stephen' as a sort of disguise in case that lady whose dog she bit tries to force Jason and Andie to put her down.
` This 'attack' happened the morning after I drew this, actually, and I saw it with my own eyes. 'Stephen's' really a good dog; I could see she wasn't being violent so much as she was asserting her dominance - a normal thing dogs do when they feel their territory is being violated. (This lady I mentioned doesn't seem to understand that - she had one of her dogs killed for only twice biting one of her others - which sounds like a heirarchal dispute to me.)
` Really, Leo - I mean, Stephen - does not attack humans, or even Butters, whose hissing displays she completely ignored. I also tried to sketch her, though it was a bit too low on the page to be very complete...

` I also made another attempt to more accurately portray Jason, though he still looks pretty creepy and weird. Of course, I suppose it's impossible not to draw him that way...

` There's actually a lot more going on in that sketch than it would appear - in fact, this composite involved a head-transplant - which I'd fully intended... after a while of mulling over the matter. Even so, it went horribly wrong! He is actually a cutie, just a difficult one to draw with a pen.

` Arg... okay, I guess I'll put down one more sketch with Jason in it before moving onto Andie. You can see the resemblance between it and the above picture... and yet again, my rendering seems to have caused another oddity with Cosey Mo, which I managed to work with:

` I'm sure Cosey will always treasure this picture in the future... when she becomes Lady Alroy.

` Now, there are actually photographs of Andie on Riley Penaluna's photography website, so you could compare them with your own eyes.

` Of course, I'm kind of being a jerk by posting this one here - I'm not supposed to have found a way to even download his images without being a meddlesome hacker.

` Which I'm not.

` Honest!

` Nevertheless, I think he should consider this as more of an advertisement - clicking on the picture will cause you to suddenly see more pictures by Mr. Penaluna!
` Surely, you might want to see his various other photos of Andie, which can be found in both the 'Portrait' gallery and the 'Everett' gallery, near the bottom of his home page.

` Anyhow, studying these should give you a fair familiarity of the strangeness of Andie's face - as the creepy Psychoanalyst 'Dr. Heifinger' to boot! It also explains why I just couldn't seem to get it right, no matter how hard I tried...

` That was meant to be Dr. Heifinger's 'insane look', though I Photoshopped it to look a little less scary. I tried several other times, without much sucess, notably, her 'plotting' expression. If you've seen the photos of Andie, I'm sure you'll agree that she appears quite different as well as much neater and more interesting than any sketch I've done of her...

` Cosey Mo happened to be close at hand at this time, and she had something to say about all this...

` It's her favorite word! It is! Oh, and one last 'Baxter' sketch, even though it's not really her last name...

` While Leo is Andie's dog, Lucy Kallahlock - or however you spell it - is Jason's. I remember we all went swimming in Granite Falls one day - except for Cosey, who isn't one to ah... really, move much yet.
` Lucy usually lives at Jason's mom's house, though, at which I also spent the night over a couple of weeks ago. In fact, I slept on the very bean bag chair that Lucy in was when I sketched her - it's very large and much more comfortable than the sofas!

` That's all for this post - I'm saving the weirdest for last.
