Arrrrghhhh! And other sounds of frustration...

Update, shortly after writing this post: My internet has suddenly started working flawlessly again. Arrr, the internet be a harsh mistress. Well, time to get to putting more things up on my website!

I can't look at my latest blog post or even check whether or not I have any more posts scheduled, but I think this is the last one, and I am not sure if I'll be able to take the sticky down today because my internet is acting up.
`
How I even managed to get to this screen to type a post is beyond me, especially since it says 'Could not contact Blogger.com. Saving and publishing may fail. Retrying....'
` My problem is, I have 'hi-speed' cable internet, meaning I have to wait ten minutes before either connecting to the page I want or getting a message saying it's taking too long to connect. Honestly, I'd rather have dial-up, because at least it's more reliable.

Of course, sometimes the internet is instantaneous, but more often than not it isn't. The only things I can do are mess around on my computer or the Mac, which I'm afraid to do because the Uninterrupted Power Source blew out. This explains why every time there's a power surge the Mac get zapped... in other words, its power is interrupted, meaning the Uninterrupted Power Source isn't working!
` I found this out when Nate told me, "Oh, don't worry, the reason the speakers weren't working is only because half the outlets on the UPS are switched off. You just have to turn them back on."
` Ha ha! Such naivite! Like... no dude, if half the outlets aren't working, it's fucking broken and it's time to get a new one. There's no fucking switch!

Anyway, this difficulty is such a huge irony because I have all the rest of the website pages (the ones I gave you 'Sneak Peeks' of?) ready to go on this computer! Now all I have to do is upload them to my website.
` But how? I had to turn off my computer because it froze up when I tried just preparing to upload them.
` To give you some more perspective, the entire time I've been typing this (about half an hour), another tab has been loading so that I can take down the sticky post. It's still loading, and I don't know whether or not it will load.

*Sigh...* I miss DSL....

These days I think you can buy power bars with surge protection. Of course, you might need that money for food.

If you ever get back on teh Interwebs you should look up Recapcha (Recaptcha?), which lets you put the bendy letters feature to work proofreading snippets of OCR'd text for some big digitize-all-literature project. Maybe Blogger could offer it as an option?
